warm welcome clear guidelines inattentive bar staff slow service
The bar staff were inattentive. They ignored us after serving our initial drinks and food. plates were not promptly cleared at breakfast, despite the restaurant being nearly empty.

The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. they were also willing to cater for our needs. i requested a special menu for my wife due to her dietary needs. She was very well catered for both at breakfast and at dinner. the grounds are well kept, a lovely sight.
i was not reassured by this. the vegan scones my daughter had were inedible. the vegan cakes were not much better.

tasting menu complimentary coffee attentive advice
The Avenue restaurant served a superb tasting menu. I appreciated the complimentary coffees in the Cedar Oak Bar as my room was prepared. Alberto, the Sommelier, provided fabulous, attentive advice during my beautiful meal.
The room lacked a fridge.

The walled vegetable gardens invite guests to wander and explore various plants. Falconry is present, but it was closed at the time of my visit, I did see Eric the Owl.

The staff was amazing and helpful. The General Manager Sunil greeted me upon arrival with his reception team. Roberto, the Bar Manager, extended a warm welcome, and Lewis and the waiting team were very accommodating to particular requests.

fabulous stay

great location delicious food friendly staff beautiful grounds
The location, food, and grounds were fantastic. my room was large, and the bathroom featured a free-standing bath plus a walk-in shower. the staff were consistently polite, friendly, and helpful. the grounds are beautiful, even in winter. The hotel provides wellies and umbrellas for walking.
The tables in the restaurant were uncomfortable. They had a large base that interfered with my feet. this sounds minor, but it was very annoying.

attentive staff right experience short notice customer service
i enjoyed dinner at the wellhouse. the staff were attentive and made sure everything was just right (i felt quite charmed).
I booked afternoon tea for a birthday celebration, but i received a call the night before. they told me they were unable to accommodate us. It was short notice.
